Hi!
We don’t make perfect gear.
Perfect can’t be improved.
It says you are finished.
And we are not finished.
Improving our gear and your experience of adventure motorcycling is why we get up and come to work each morning.
Today I am going to start to tell you about a really important bit of gear that we are improving.
It's The Supershirt.
When we launched this a few years ago we really didn't know how it would go down.
We knew why we made it, to create a level of comfort, safety and freedom that adventure riders had dreamt of but never been able to experience.
It turned the way we gear up on its head, allowing us to put on a baselayer that provided our CE AA protection first, not last.
The fabric we developed was revolutionary.
We knew what the lab tests said, but would anyone believe us?
For real.
With a brave rider who literally put 'skin in the game'.
(Thank you Rob).
Watch Rob crash in The Supershirt here.
Thankfully, it wasn't just us who understood how The Supershirt could change the game.
You did too.
Here's a message that Matt sent us after his unfortunate crash...
"The first thing I knew about the crash was a sharp pain in my right shoulder as I had landed directly on it and then bashed my head... it really rang my bell to be honest.
A couple of days later when I could eventually move about, the first thing after checking the bike was to check the condition of my Supershirt. I was dreading checking it as I had a serious impact on rough stoney terrain at fast enough speeds, I didn't expect much of the right side to be left intact.
The smile on my face after checking it was from ear to ear, the only marks left were some ripple marks where the cloth gathered although no holes, abrasion gaps or loss of strength in the stitching - fair play to you all at AS that shirt is amazing and worth every penny..."

But you also had ideas on how The Supershirt could evolve.
And we've been listening (this form has been handy for sending us feedback).
Some of your ideas we agree with.
"I totally understand the necessity to add armour to all your range in order to pass the necessary certifications. However, on many items, like the Supershirt for example, many including myself immediately ditch the chest and back armour in favour of our own ‘customisation’ which is a waste of materials and cost."
Some we don't.
"The one thing missing with the Supershirt is pockets."
Some are just not possible.
"Wrap around armour for rib cage"
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to let us know how they would like to see our gear improve.
Soon we will be launching The Supershirt 2.0.
In this new version there are two improvements we are making.
Armour.
And price.
The armour is thinner, lighter, more breathable and more comfortable without any loss in performance.
And the price is coming down.
In my next emails I'm going to go into more detail about our new Flow armour, and how we've managed to make The Supershirt more affordable than ever.
Thanks for your time.
I know it's valuable.
🙂🙏
